The daughter of a Czech-trained seamstress, Libby was exposed to the art and design of textiles from day one. With a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, she took her two children with her to Cranbrook Academy of Art where she received her Master's of Fine Art degree. Libby began teaching in upstate New York where she became a Professor of Art and Art History at the State University of New York.

In 2004, Libby and her son Greg launched Kova Textiles, an award-winning company known for its highly unique Krystal Weave collections. Libby continues to maintain an active schedule of consulting in the textile design community, researching innovative materials, designing her own collections for Kova Textiles and exhibiting her photography and constructed fabric/paintings in galleries and museums.

Libby Kowalski's feature designs for Veritas™ are Black Wave, White Wave, Floral, Golden Dawn, Winter Ice, Ogee, Plaid, Swerve and Krystal Weave.
